Leon Pericles’ famous Margaret River art studio and garden are full of curious objects and artefacts, sculptures, varieties of plants and to top it off, is situated at the doorstep of the Margaret River falls. It’s a place like no other, and is open only once a year during the Margaret River Open Studios event. Each year, Pericles’ attracts hundreds each day to his magical property, and generously donates a morning tea at his property to raise funds for the Open Studios.

The 2024 morning tea was held a couple of weeks ago, and was a great success. The auction winner Louise invited 5 lovely friends to the event and enjoyed the morning with Leon. We were delighted to hear how much they loved the morning, and were overjoyed to hear the comments they sent through. Some of them are as follows:

“it was so much more than I excepted”

“this was the best day of my life!”

“wow!”

“an inspiring, generous and genuine person”

“enormous achievements for one man”

“full of imagination and humour”

“very welcoming”

“inspiring and talented work”

“incredible creative mind”

“what a privilege to spend time with Leon”

“not only does Leon create amazing art, his home and gardens and in themselves are a fabulous artwork”

Thank-you to Margaret River Bakery for the delicious goods, to Louise and her lovely friends, and to MRROS for facilitating the event. It was an absolute joy and we look for to it next year.
