Description

I’ve been fascinated recently with creating three dimensional artworks that can be enjoyed from different angles. This particular painting is a contemporary version of a landscape painting. One side is highly textured made with collaging different textured materials. Most are repurposed from packing etc which have been painted over. To highlight the texture, I have used a technique for ‘scumbling’ which draws out the details in the texture.

On the other side, I wanted to create a contrasting version with bright colours and painted details. The painting is across four boards which are suspended, and shaped edges that follow each landscape.

This artwork is perfect for a hallway or a space where it can be experienced from either side.
