Salvador Dali "Five Seconds after the Egg Germinated at Tiggy's Tea Party" (serigraph, circa 1949) : A gift to Tiggy Puggenheim from Salvador Dali after attending "the greatest tea party of his life" on Tiggy's America's Cup Yacht.
Sir Thomas Lipton caused a small scandal when he suggested to Tiggy Puggenheim that if she gave him this work he would discretely allow her yacht to beat his and win the America's Cup. Tiggy refused and went on to win the "Cup" anyway. Accessioned to the Tiggy Puggenheim Collection in 1959.
