Description
A Quantity of Duration talks about the flow of time and the fantasy of controlling time. We start at the beginning with the big bang. In this case a quantum chook – an incredibly dense chook – explodes to create everything that is in the universe today. This may be where chooks have gleaned their arrogance and belief they are god-like. The first smell in existence was the smell of burn feathers.
The piece also speaks about the time lord who controls time. Gifted with immortality he has the ability to move time and change the type of time. Leon also makes references to time in words and what we do with time ‘waiting for’ and ‘waiting to’. He alludes to how we measure growth in time, move through time and attempt to manipulate time but ultimately shows we are at the mercy of time.
