Last month, Leon Pericles hosted a special lunch for the winners of an auction, with all proceeds donated to Nature Conservation Margaret River. Set in Leon’s own lush garden, this intimate gathering was a celebration of both art and the nature.

The lunch was beautifully catered by a local business, adding a delicious touch to an already perfect day. Guests dined under the open sky, with the weather playing its part by delivering a sunny afternoon. After the meal, Leon led the group on a tour through his garden, where he shared the inspiration behind many of his artworks that reflect the surrounding landscapes.

The tour continued into Leon’s studio and printmaking room, where he demonstrated his creative process and gave guests an insight into his art practice. He explained the meticulous printmaking techniques he uses, from the initial sketches to the final print, emphasizing how each piece is influenced by the natural world around him.

“It’s always a joy to share my studio with others,” Leon said. “I love showing the process behind my work, especially when the connection between art and nature is so strong.”

The afternoon was not just about art, though. The event also highlighted the importance of conservation efforts in the beautiful Margaret River region. Nature Conservation Margaret River is dedicated to protecting the area’s unique landscapes and biodiversity. With a focus on the preservation of native species, habitats, and ecosystems, this organization plays a crucial role in safeguarding the delicate balance of the region’s natural environment.

By supporting this local conservation group, attendees of the lunch contributed directly to the continued protection of the Southwest’s stunning landscapes, ensuring that future generations can experience the same beauty that inspired Leon’s work.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported the auction, and made the day so memorable.
