About the Retrospective

An exhibition of selected hand made print works by Leon Pericles. This will comprise approximately 100 works spanning a period of 33 years. The collection will consist of approximately 50% of works which are out of edition and 50% which are currently available . Offering some rare out of edition prints from the artists; private collection. The selection from an extensive body of work will ensure this collection represents an important body of work. Each print will be framed using archival boards and professional framing standard. The exhibition is curated by Moira Pericles.

Launch of a book

Marking the exhibition is a beautifully designed and produced 52 page soft cover book with dust jacket and approximately 70 colour plates carefully selected to represent the handmade print works of Leon Pericles over his life as an artist. The brief biographical text contributed by Moira Pericles provides a warm account of the artist¹s life looking at the events and circumstances which spawned the body of work. The foreword by renowned Widjimorphup art critic Hugh J¹Eegeau adds an insight into Leons work in a style befitting the artists¹ proclivity for satire and whimsy.
